How to replace toilet cistern?

Bunnings Team,

I am looking to refresh the top half of my toilet setup by replacing the existing cistern and toilet seat, while keeping my current ceramic toilet pan (which is in great condition).

Because my bathroom has a right-skew trap setup, replacing the entire toilet pan is not ideal at this stage, so I want to find a compatible replacement plastic or ceramic /link cistern and seat kit that a plumber can easily install onto my existing pan.

I have attached photos showing:

* An overview of the existing toilet suite and close-coupled link layout.

* The interior of the current cistern and the water supply isolation valve.

* The connection gap and link pipe leading into the back of the pan.

Could you please recommend the best compatible replacement cistern and seat product available at Bunnings that would suit this type of link-suite configuration?

I actually had my eye on those two products but just wanted to double check.

I ended up buying the Estilo White Replacement Cistern With Seat which seems pretty close to what we are after.

Hi @Jay_11,

As you're working with a separate cistern rather than a close-coupled toilet suite, you have quite a bit of flexibility with the replacement. Pretty much any standalone cistern should work, with your plumber able to install and cut the link pipe to suit the distance between the new cistern and your existing pan.

A couple of options worth looking at are the Estilo White Replacement Cistern With Seat, or the Fluidmaster Monaco Universal Cistern With Link And Seat, which both include the cistern, link pipe, an adjustable link pipe cover and a replacement toilet seat.

Either option should work with only minimal alteration from your plumber. In saying this, it is usually best to confirm that the product is suitable with your plumber prior to purchase. They have the professional experience, and they will be installing it, so it's best to double check with them to confirm.
