How to install the Ikonic Ruby deadbolt?

I have purchased the ikonic ruby combination entry set. I had no issues installing the door handle. However the deadbolt pins when both interior and exterior lock are put together are wider than the door. The door is 40mm and the set says made for doors 35mm-55mm wide, however with the length of the pins, there is no way for the lock to sit flush. Any ideas?

Hi @NicoleDIY,

As with the screws for holding, it in place, the spindle on your deadbolt needs to be cut down. You can actually see what appears to be a couple of indents which should line up with the required sizes for standard door thicknesses.

To cut the spindle down, I'd suggest you clamp it solidly in place, then use a hacksaw to cut the spindle to the required length.

Assuming the image currently shows it at the narrowest possible width, you'd measure the distance between the face of the door and the back of the deadbolt -

- then cut that length off of the spindle.

If there are any burrs on the spindle after cutting, you can tidy them up with a little bit of sandpaper or a small file.
