How to seal shower tiles and grout?

I am older lady and first time single and tackling little jobs around the home .

My old grout was over 2o yrs old and I learnt that it needed a refresh as I saw some areas that crumbled and had pinholes in it .

I scrapped out as much as I could..basically it's just a light coat to fill in any low places with pre mixed grout.

I used the Dunlop pre mixed grout in a bottle.

Anyway..I want to seal the shower and grout .

I will silicone the joint between the wall and floor tiles as it was never done..

I have a few tiles with very thin hairline cracks in them ..none are loose !!

I literally can't afford a Reno and need to do it myself.

What sealer to use on the shower ?

It sounds like you're doing everything right so far. Before applying it, make sure the grout has fully cured according to the manufacturer's instructions and that the shower is completely clean and dry. I'd also go ahead with your plan to silicone the wall-to-floor junction using a suitable wet-area sanitary silicone, as these changes of plane should have a flexible joint rather than grout.

Just bear in mind that Shower Plug isn't a substitute for the waterproofing membrane underneath the tiles. If you have ongoing leaks, loose tiles, significant cracking or signs of water damage outside the shower, further investigation would be needed.

For what you've described, though, it sounds like a very reasonable DIY approach to extending the life of your existing shower.
