Hello the blades of my ceiling fan are bent. Is it possible to change this celling fan blades? Can I use any blades and is it available in bunnings?
Hi @Accomplished_B,
Unfortunately, ceiling fan blade mounting holes aren't standardised, so you can't typically replace them with blades from another fan. You would need to source replacement blades specifically designed for your model from the manufacturer. Bunnings doesn't sell replacement ceiling fan blades separately, and depending on the age of the fan, replacement blades might no longer be available from the manufacturer either.
Given the age of the fan, I'd consider replacing it with a new unit. Modern fans with DC motors can be significantly more energy-efficient than older AC models. I've had several DC fans installed in my own home, and despite using them regularly, I haven't noticed any discernible increase in my electricity bill. They really are remarkably efficient.
As replacing a ceiling fan involves fixed 240V wiring, you'll need a licensed electrician to remove the existing fan and install the new one. If you do choose to go with replacing, you might like to take advantage of our Ceiling Fan Installation offer.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
