The project:
I have four chickens in my backyard. In pecking order they are Rex (a hen), Hewlett-Packard 1, and Hewlett-Packard 2, and Toyota. They can roost in a shed I made from a skateboard ramp that was being chucked out. A couple of "Click" lamps from Bunnings wake them up early because they didn't seem to be laying eggs initially because it was too dark, now it's not needed. I've got nests made from two black plastic boxes, also from Bunnings. The chickens like them. I made an automatic closer door on an extension arm that stops the chickens using the nests at night but it opens up automatically at 4:00 a.m. It seems to work quite well.
