I would like to know if it is a good idea to embark on building a DIY deck.
I have absolutely no trade experience and would like to know how and where to start. Wouldn't mind working under someone as a trainee in order to learn.

I really need to attend a DIY workshop of some sorts in order to make this work
@Hisham you are right there is nothing like some hands on experience. However if you can use a drill, cut a piece of timber, measure accurately and are prepared to watch several videos/ask for help on here I believe it is more than possible.
Heck I made this without any prior knowledge/experience in several hours.
You'll find most Bunnings stores focus on Decking DIY sessions around October, however you may find they run a couple of them throughout the year.
You could always call your local store and ask for the Activities Organiser, they'll be able to tell you if one will be held in the near future.
You at e legend... thank you so much.... yes I can use a drill and cut timber... but nervous about the measurements and getting infrastructure ready.
