I used some 42x30 pine, 19mm dowel, Walnut coloured stain, and 4x of the 10kg spreading wall hooks.
Made a frame and used a spade bit to drill holes 150mm apart and about 3/4 way through the timber. Chopped some dowels to 500mm and others to 400mm, placed into which ever holes you desire but not glued in. This way I can move the dowel to different holes as required depending on the type of model aircraft (some wings come off easy, other wings are a pain to remove)
My only beef is why using a 19mm spade bit to drill holes for 19mm dowel ends up with dowels that are a bit loose. I would have figured they'd be a tight fit but a few coats of stain on everything seems to have tightened it up.
I still have to stain some of the dowel but other than that it's all finished 🙂
