Decking prep help - how to revive a timber deck?

2 decks that require attention, undercover and exposed. I’m a DIY beginner with decks so seeking guidance on both products to use and a process that’s efficient & good quality but not going to take +50hrs! Even links to step by step guides would be appreciated. There is plenty of ideas out there but thought some real life perspectives would be good 🙂

It would be helpful to show us a close-up image of the exposed deck as it appears to have deteriorated to some extent. If so, you might need to give it a sanding to rejuvenate it. If it is splintering or rough to the touch, then that is a good sign that sanding is required for a fantastic restoration.

Some products you'll need for this project are a Cabot's Deck Prep Brush, Cabot's 15L Deck Hand Bucket, Cabot's Decking Oil Applicator, Cabot's 4L Deck Clean and your choice of decking oil. These are all premium products and will last for many years. It would be worth making this investment now as you'll be using them atleast bi-yearly for oiling. My recommendation for a decking oil would be the water-based Aquadeck. It lasts two times longer than traditional oil-based products, has a recoat time of one hour, is low odour and has exceptional durability.
