An attractive workstation with storage to easily pot plants without having to bend over.

The project
My husband and I are both newly retired and are keen to remain busy and active. I have been wanting a potting table for some time and looked online for inspiration. The D.I.Y. potting table by the Bunnings team was ideal as it came with a video and step-by-step instructions.
We had the materials cut to size in-store.

We found the height of the table was too high when the wheels were added and removed them so we had a more reasonable height to work at. The finished height without wheels is 920mm. We also added to the depth to create a bigger working area and space for a shelf.

Overall the end result is wonderful. Not a bad job for an ex-accountant!

How to build a potting bench
A potting bench is a handy workstation where you can pot plants and store your seeds, tools, hoses and other gardening gear. Follow step-by-step instructions to build a D.I.Y. potting bench.
You can also build an easy wall-mounted garden tool storage rack using a recycled pallet.

Workshop member wovenpaua put together a flat pack workbench from Bunnings to use as a potting bench and created a garden tool storage unit using pallets.
