How do you repair laminate that is coming off?

A suitable product to glue laminate back down would be Selleys 50ml Kwik Grip Crystal Clear Contact Adhesive.

Ensure surfaces are clean and dry. Apply to both surfaces and spread evenly making sure surfaces are completely covered. Keep surfaces apart until adhesive is almost dry – approximately 15 minutes, no more than 30 minutes.

When edges are perfectly aligned work from one edge, pressing the surfaces firmly together. The product will grab immediately.

If the laminate is particularly curled away from the surface you can tape it in place while the glue sets. - MitchellMc

What solution would you propose if the broken piece of laminate is missing?

I suggest using 21mm x 10m Melamine Edging White. I propose trimming the melamine on the door and measuring out the length you need from the roll. You'll need to put two cut pieces to cover the side of the door as the melamine edging is only 21mm wide. You can use Selleys 50ml Kwik Grip Crystal Clear Contact Adhesive or you can iron on the edging. The excess can be trimmed with a Stanley FatMax Retractable Knife and sanded down to level.

I've got a chip in a client's breakfast bar, right next to the sink. water has been absorbed into the chipboard and buckled the laminate. is there a fix up I can do that avoids replacing the whole bench?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Ready2go. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about repairing laminate.

This issue likely occurred as there is no caulking between the benchtop and this vertical surface. Water penetrated the gap and entered the bottom edge of that vertical panel as it would be exposed chipboard. At this stage, it might be best to touch up the area with white paint and then add the required silicone caulking to the join to prevent further water from entering. Not a perfect solution, but if the chipboard is buckled and compromised, there's not much else you could do.

It doesn't look like the benchtop itself is affected. Could you just replace the vertical splashback section?
