Dept of Primary Industries Soil testing

I stumbled upon thie DPIs website this morning while trying to work out how to break up really compacted soil to start a veggie plot.
Obviously they where no help in that department but I did discover they send out free soil testing kits.
Has anyone used this service before? I know my it's meant to be tailored at actual farmers but could I gain anything from it.

What type of soil do you have? Is it clay you want to break up?

There are soil testing kids available for household use to test ph levels.
