This two-tone timber table provides space to prepare food for barbecuing and easily folds up when not in use.

The project
I made this solid table for my son's barbecue area using two types of timber. The bulk of the table is made from Larch (some people call it New Zealand Oregon) and the other coloured panels are Douglas Fir (Oregon). I finished the table with a Feast and Watson stain and varnish.

The legs fold up for easy storage. I made the top end of the leg round and fixed it to the side rail of the table with a bolt. There are two washers between the leg and the side rail to allow the leg to turn between open and closed positions.
More inspiration for outdoor areas
Geoff also created this portable drinks trolley to prepare, store and serve drinks at barbecues and outdoor gatherings.
