Tile and carpet to laminate transition

Hey team, I am installing laminate flooring in a few weeks. Ive got various transitions to existing rooms - laminate to carpet and laminate to tiles - the tile edge should be approx the same height as the laminate once in, and the tile edge has an aluminium angle already installed to protect the tile edge.

Any thoughts on the easiest way to cover and which items to buy. I am super confused. I'd be happy with something like the qep pcs covers to be honest (https://www.bunnings.com.au/qep-black-vinyl-edge-cap_p6822319) but does that require a "u channel" or is there an easier way to do it.

Also should I leave off the edge strip to our new bedroom which has yet to have carpet installed and let the carpet people take care of that edge?

Thank you for sharing that question about transition covers between flooring. If your flooring contract includes a room to room flooring transition clause, then the carpet guys will provide a transition piece. However, if there was no mention of how the carpet will join the other flooring substrates, then it will be up to you how to cover those gaps.

Your choice of using QEP Vinyl Edge Cap is excellent. It's relatively easy to install and should it get damaged is easy to remove and repair. Using an aluminium transition strip is also an option. Its advantage is that it's made of aluminium and will last longer when compared to the vinyl edge cap. But repairing it is quite involved and often involves destroying the transition piece itself. Installation is also not as straightforward as some pieces require drilling while others require using permanent construction adhesive.

I recommend purchasing a few of the "U" channels ahead of time so that you'll be prepared once the flooring goes in. I propose speaking to the flooring installers ahead of time to make sure that this particular part of the job is crystal clear. I suggest speaking to the flooring specialist at your store so that you can get the correct parts for the QEP Vinyl Edge Cap.

I installed hybrid planks (similar to laminate) and I used this where the planks met the tiles and the back sliding door: https://www.bunnings.com.au/roberts-1-65m-x-8mm-bronze-floating-floor-perimeter-trim_p6827929

I had to give it a bit of persuasion to close it up (planks were only 5.5mm) but it is holding up well and looks pretty good (kindly ignore floor dust :p). Since its a floating floor it was really easy to just hook under by lifting the whole edge and cuts to size with a hacksaw.

Thanks - I cant seem to find the channels easily on the bunnings website - Do you happen to know where I can find them or have a link. The Trim section of the website is a mess to navigate.

What channel were you looking for? I see that there was mention of a channel by @seannami, and they provided the link. Here are the other C-channel perimeter trims. We also have the traditional nail-down cover-strips.

If there were a particular profile, style or colour you were after, I'd be happy to try and find it for you.

Thanks I was looking for the channels on the right here below in the pic. Its to put a PVC Edge cap (see bottom screengrab) into to transition from a laminate to a bathroom area which is tiled. All the current bedrooms have these installed already - So I plan on removing and replacing those with the black PVC caps below as well.

That's correct. The Cap Vinyl Edge Qep Cork 15-7505 pushes into the Trim Multi Pin Less Base 1.65m Silver 41-7108-mb. However, what you got in your picture above is the pinned version of the base. You don't need the pinned version as your Vinyl capping already has the ribs to grip into the base.
