What plaster filler doesn't dry too white?

Recently I patched a hole with https://www.bunnings.com.au/selleys-180g-spakfilla-rapid-gap-filler-180g_p1231864

One thing I noticed that when filler dried, it was way whiter than when I had applied it.

I also remembered that when we had painter previously to paint the whole house, they were using some sort of compound which looked like yellowish in colour but dried to sort of neutral and it didn't need 3 coats of paint like in my case.

What is that filler called and where can I buy it?

Thanks. Got busy this weekend. Next weekend project to fix some patches.

I'll take some sample cuts to get correct info about paint. I tried to match by getting some paint cards but that is not a very reliable way.

Generally speaking, a common choice is semi-gloss, but it does not mean that this will match your base board. I propose taking a photo and having a good look at your base board and then looking at the paint finish samples at the paint counter. You'll be able to see the three basic levels of finish which is gloss, semi-gloss and low sheen. You should be able to see the finish that is similar to your base board.

I'll try that Uni-Pro one and get that undercoat as well.

Generally what is the sheen level for trims/basaeboards? Paint is no sheen on walls.

I'll fix some trims as well while doing walls patches.
