I moved into a duplex with a ensuite bathroom with peachy pink tiles with brown accent tiles, cream walls and cream floor tile with grey grout. As this will be the last room to be renovated I decided to take a risk and paint the tiles. I found a you tube tutorial. It took me three weeks. I won’t lie - it’s hard work but I now have a bathroom I love. Just don’t rush the process.

Steps
Step 1
Clean and scrub entire bathroom thoroughly so the primer sticks to the tile.
Allow the bathroom to dry overnight.

Step 2
Use blue tape to avoid getting paint everywhere! Paint the tiles with primer EXCEPT the floor. I used two coats.use a small brush to get the paint into the grout when doing the first coat. Then use the roller to get a smooth finish.
Step 3
After two coats of primer apply your first coat of top coat remember to paint the grout with a small brush before using the roller. Buy plenty of roller covers and brushes as the top coat is oil based and it’s easier to throw roller covers away than clean them. Do three coats of topcoat in the shower and coats everywhere else. Every coat of paint must dry overnight.

Step 4
Paint the walls and vanity with two coats of wall paint.
Apply satin varnish over the painted vanity.do use the British Paint quick drying varnish - it’s perfect. I painted the outside of the vanity doors only, this takes a small sample pot of paint. I used 1l for the walls.
Step 5
When you have finished the walls of the shower, clean and scrub the shower floor and apply the two coats of primer and three coats of topcoat. My shower floor is great six months later.
Step 6
Add the finishing touches.
