Best option to replace taps?

Hi,

Moved in apartment in 2024 built 2008 got plumber to replace washers 12 months ago.. and now I just think basin taps, shower taps and bath taps just need replacing.

To have the longest life with no washer change which option should I go for? Mixer to replace basin taps? Or normal tap but with ceramic washers?

Getting plumber quotes and want to know what to ask for specifically .

Hose under basin is cooked.

Re: best option to replace tap

Hello @lld1987

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your tapware.

I propose changing your wall taps to ceramic spindles, in this manner it won't be necessary to demolish your bathroom wall just to upgrade your shower taps. However, if it is possible to upgrade your basin taps to a single mixer, that would be my recommendation. this is on the condition that your ceramic basin can accept a standard basin mixer base. If not, your options are to upgrade your basin to a one tap hole set. While you have the plumber present, I also suggest changing your plug and waste into a Kinetic 32mm Chrome Pop Up Basin Waste With Overflow or similar as your old one seems to be rusting and worn out.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Eric
