Hi Bros,
Reg: Laminate Benchtops
I would like to clarify some information regarding the laminate benchtops positioned near the windows in the walk-in pantry and laundry. Both of these rooms are situated approximately 0.9 meters from the fence, with neighbour two-storey house also 0.9 meters from the fence, which greatly limits direct sunlight exposure to these areas.
Given this minimal exposure to direct sunlight, is there still a risk that the laminate benchtop adjacent to the windows could warp, deform, or lose its colour or texture due to UV rays? If so, what mitigative actions are required?
I would appreciate your thoughts and advice on this matter.
Kind regards
MM
Hello @nagumuthu
Laminated benchtops are often dynamically stable even when exposed to incidental sunlight through windows. UV damage of course is unavoidable, and it is difficult to measure how much it will damage and fade the surface. My best advice is to use block out roller blinds to prevent the sun from shinning onto the benchtops. They can be ordered custom width and are not that hard to install.
I also suggest checking out our Curtain, Blind & Shutter Installation Service if you wish to have your roller blinds professionally installed.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
Eric
Thanks @EricL. Appreciate your thoughts on this. We will consider installing blinds as proposed.
