Can you use vinyl flooring in a laundry?

Hi - is vinyl flooring like this: Senso DIY 2m Wide Essential Alma Grey Vinyl Sheet - Bunnings Australia suitable for a laundry?  A major flooring retailer told me that vinyl can't be used in a laundry or bathroom as there would need to be a hole cut for the floor drain which would destroy the waterproofing, but this product says it's suitable for wet areas.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about vinyl flooring.

The Senso DIY 2m Wide Essential Alma Grey Vinyl Sheet product itself is waterproof. It is generally placed over existing tiled or timber flooring to change its appearance, but it is not placed over a waterproof membrane that has not been tiled or rendered. I suspect that the retailer was worried that you would be placing it over unfinished flooring. Therefore, cutting a hole on the vinyl sheet for the drain will not compromise the floors waterproofing. Please note that this vinyl sheet can't be used inside the shower cubicle itself. It is for the outside flooring of the bathroom only.
