I have retiled a bathroom and the owner has purchased Mondella taps from Bunnings , only problem being that they are ceramic disc spindles which need approximately 40mm extension, I have not had any joy finding this length, what are my options?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Dave14. It's sensational to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about spindle extenders.Were the taps a wall top assembly? I only ask as usually, you'd only need a 15-28mm extender if you've bought the wall out significantly. Wall top assemblies should suit standard installations without the need for an extender at all. If the spindles need a 40mm extender, it sounds like they might be a basin top assembly.
If you can provide details and link the tap set you're trying to install, that would be helpful.
Looking forward to sorting this out for you.Mitchell
@MitchellMc ,
Cheers , thanks for your reply, have tried the 28mm extenders , were still too short . The owner had normal washer spindles, but I’ve tiled over old tiles , which were quite deep anyway, hence I’m now in no mans land . Last resort ? Do I get owner to return taps and purchase washer taps to which I can fit multiple extenders ?
sorry, the taps are wall top assembly ( Mondella resonance range )
Will the spindle screw into the wall with the 28mm extender @Dave14? If so, could you then use Kinetic 20 - 25mm Spindle Top Extender - 4 Pack on the handle side of the spindle? Or, does that not allow the cover flanges to be installed? The flat-sided spindle top extender might not be compatible with that spindle and handle.
I think at 40mm extension you are likely looking at multiple extenders and washer valve style taps.
