Re: Ceramic tile hole cutting

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @tripot68. It's a pleasure to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about drilling holes in wall tiles.

Can I please confirm that it is this Kango 35mm Mini Diamond Pro Holesaw you were considering using? If so, then it is suitable for both ceramic and porcelain tiles. You need to drill at the slowest speed possible and keep the bit constantly cool with water. It can help if someone assists and spritzes the bit with a spray bottle whilst you work. If you haven't used one of these core bits before on glazed tile, the trick is to approach the surface at an angle, cut in at the bit's rim and then gradually bring the drill perpendicular to the tile. The bit tends to skip around on the glazed surface if you approach straight on.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell
