Claw bath restoration

I don’t have a bath in my bathroom and have always wanted an outside bath. I bought the cast iron claw bath for $10 and payed another $100 for a set of old feet.

I did a lot of sanding a bit of filling to get a smooth surface. I then used rust converter on the inside surface rust. I love the rust on the outside and wanted to leave it. I then primed and did 3 coats of white (white night rust guard epoxy enamel)

It came up a treat! I then added a rustic shelf on the corner where a chunk was missing and added a waste.

It was then lifted into place on my back decking.

The plumbing was also DIY with the help of clip on fittings from bunnings.  It has hot and cold running water and is so relaxing to soak in!

Re: Claw bath restoration

This is so fab! I've always wanted a claw footed bath and I didn't realise that it was possible to restore one as rusted as this. What a fantastic project, well done!
