Coastal laundry

Laundry Love

We wanted to maximise space, add storage and create a feeling of calm.

We added a kaboodle bench and bamboo bench top for storage and work surfacce. Hung timber Ladder from wall for drying and replaced tiled floor with vinyl planks.

Materials

Kaboodle cabinets

Bamboo benchtop

Dulux Aqua Paint

Dulux Lexicon 1/4 for walls

Bunnings Tapwear

Steps

Step 1

Removed old laundry tub and resurfaced a double cement tub using Dulux Aqua paint.

Step 2

Removed hot water heater and put outside.

Step 3

Lifted up old tiles and replaced with vinyl planks

Step 4

Added Kaboodle cabinet with Bamboo bench top. Allowed on end for laundry hamper.

Step 5

Attached a timber ladder to the wall for drying

Congratulations on that terrific laundry makeover. You've perfectly managed to introduce coastal vibes in that laundry and created a stylish and functional space. I especially love your innovative idea of hanging a ladder from the wall to maximise drying space.

This would make for a fantastic entry in our ongoing search for Australia's best D.I.Y. project this D.I.Y. July so I've gone ahead and submitted your project for you.
