I have recently bought a 70s home that has some lovely, but worn terrazzo flooring. How can I bring it back to life on a budget? Thanks in advance for any advice!
Hi @roisindubh,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.
I'd suggest you start by giving it a good scrub with a neutral floor cleaner such as this Peerless JAL Versadet Neutral Floor Cleaner and a scrubbing brush.
You can then mop the floor to pick up any dirt or grime that is lifted from the scrubbing process.
After mopping, apply this Feast Watson Floor Polish with a soft sponge or Decking Oil Applicator.
This should have your terrazzo flooring clean and shining in no time and at a relatively low cost.
Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Jacob
Thanks Jacob! It kind of looks like whatever it was sealed with has come up in places with age and wear and tear. If I need to go down that route what would you recommend to re seal and how would I do that?
Hello @roisindubh
If you are going to take the next step and re-seal floor, the original seal will need to be stripped off and the floor grinded back. This will give you a uniform finish from which to start from. The Crommelin sealers are promising, but because you have a shower area with the same type of flooring, I suggest engaging the services of a professional concrete sealer as they will have the knowledge and experience to seal your shower area properly. Shower areas require specialized sealers that can withstand continuous high temperatures and heavy moisture environments. Ordinary sealers will not work in these conditions.
If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Good to know! I’ll give Jacob’s tips a go and hopefully that will work
