How do I fix gap between door and frame?

There is gap between my laundry door and the door frame. But it’s only at the lower section of the door. I have the weatherproof seal on the door frame and the door closes fine. But there’s a gap because I can see light passing through. What I can do to fix the gap?

It appears that only 3/4 of your weather seal is actually making contact with your door. If the door is not off balance and is not hitting any of the corners when it is being used, I recommend leaving your door in its current position and just adding more weather seal for ease of repair. I suggest using Moroday White Self Adhesive Weather Seal on the bottom right-hand side of the old door seal only. There is no need to cover the entire area with a new seal. The new weather seal will easily cover the gap, and you'll have a fully sealed door.

My best advice is to wipe the area with isopropyl alcohol before putting the new weather seal beside the old weather seal.

The door doesn't hit any of the corners when I open and close it. But when the door is closed, I can see that the door is jutting out a little bit at the bottom right section. Hence not making contact with the weather seal. Is that an alignment issue or is that part of the door warped? I have had rainwater coming through that door a few times before, even with a Raven RP3 bottom door seal.

With regards to your suggestion, do I have to remove the old weather seal at the bottom right section or put a new one on top of the current seal? Thank you.

Hi @redcamper,

If the bottom right is not making contact with the jamb but the top right is, then the door is likely warped. Replacement is an option, or as Eric has suggested, you could increase the amount of weather seal in the bottom right to make up for it.

It's likely best to install a new seal thicker seal in the bottom right, rather than apply one over the existing.
