Hi,
I am planning on adding a shower to my laundry room and doing some changes. I might be getting plumber, electrician and waterproofer for the job.
There are quiet a few changes here, but I had a few questions:
1. Can the drain from shower be linked to the drain seen on the photo- understand there will be concrete cutting + tile works.
Is it better to do all the floor tiles/waterproofing again in entire laundry or limit the tile works/waterproofing to shower area + concrete cutting footprint?
2. I have got vent on powder room(got snip of plan attached). Laundry does not have ceiling vent. Is it possible to hook up the proposed vent in laundry room to the one I have for the powder room?
Open for thoughts on layout. Thanks.
Hello @sum1989
All the tiles will need to be removed as the waterproofing for the area will have to be painted on again (the rules for waterproofing a shower is different from a laundry one). It is definitely possible to link your shower's plumbing to the existing laundry set plumbing inside the concrete. Your plumber will tell you exactly where they will be linking to.
I propose engaging the services of a ventilation specialist. They will be able to tell you what you'll be needing to modify and link the existing ducting.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
