How to adjust Kaboodle hinges?

How to adjust Kaboodle hinges?

Hi, have some caboodle hinges on a laundry.  Having trouble with the "in and out" adjustment.  Understand what the screws do but it just doesn't want to seem to turn.  The hinges have some sort of cam so differ from. the ones in the video

Re: How to adjust Kaboodle hinges?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @DonM . It’s great to have you join us and many thanks for you question about adjusting hinges.

To go over what we already know, generally, the screw circled in red works as a locking screw and also allows for in-and-out adjustment—helping to move the door closer to or further from the cabinet carcass. The screw circled in blue adjusts the door's left-to-right position, which is useful for lining up both doors evenly in the centre.

To make adjustments, start by slightly loosening the red screw—just a half turn should do. This will unlock the hinge mechanism and allow movement. You can then use the blue screw to shift the door left or right. Once the doors are aligned, push the hinge and door gently back toward the cabinet to close any remaining gap, then tighten the red screw again to lock everything in place.

If the screws aren’t turning, it might be due to over-tightening.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Re: How to adjust Kaboodle hinges?

Thnks so much for the response Mitchell.  So the red screw(s) dont seem to turn.  So can get maybe a quarter of a turn, but that doesn't release the hinge or allow any movement.

All the hinges are the same too so dont think it is an overtightening thing unless they are overtight from factory

Re: How to adjust Kaboodle hinges?

Hello @DonM

I propose trying the reverse sequence and turn the blue one until it is almost out. This should release the tension on the red one allowing you to adjust it. Please give it a try and let us know the results.
