I’ve just moved into a rental property and the movers have set up my washing machine to the cold water tap, but there’s no drainage hole in the wall or floor — the only option is for the drain pipe to empty into the bathtub.
I’m looking for a way to secure the drain hose above the bath (maybe to the tiled wall) so it stays in place while the machine runs. Since this is a rented property, I really need a non-damaging or removable solution (like adhesive hooks or suction cups).
Does anyone have product recommendations or tips on how to do this safely and neatly? Could it be something I can do rather than a plumber? Also ideally something I can pick up from Bunnings.
Thanks x
Hello @ldld
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your washing machine.
I propose using a Trojan Single Cup Suction Holder on the side of the steel bath or tile to act as an anchor. The drain hose can then be attached to the handle of the suction cup with Crescent 200 x 4.6mm Black Cable Ties - 100 Pack. My best advice is to wipe the surface of the tub or tile with DIGGERS 125ml Isopropyl Alcohol and a clean rag. The surface must be totally dry and free of grease and oil in order for the suction cup to hold on for a long period of time.
Let me call on our experienced members @Dave-1, @Nailbag and @AlanM52 for their recommendations.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

As I can't find anything on the Bunnings website @ldld what I have setup before is 1-2 high-powered suction cups to the tiles. then attached the hose with cable ties. This will make for a few safe and secure as well as non-permanent/damaging solution.

Hi @ldld,
This is what you need.
Google yourself with 'U Shape Drain Hose Guide' to get more results.
Or you can simply secure the drain hose to the back corner of the washing machine with Velcro.
Cheers
