How to build a cabinet to hide fridge & washer?

I want to make a DIY wood looking cabinet or something of that sort to hide my fridge & washer in the kitchen & provide me with extra countertop space. Open to any suggestions but I'm thinking a top piece of wood & two side pieces that are attached with some sort of bracket. I don't need a back since it's against the wall and to allow some airflow. A front isn't super necessary unless there's a cheap option, I was thinking of just adding a curtain to hide it from the front.
How would I go about making this / is this even feasible? I have a screwdriver but not electric or fancy. I've never built anything like this before and I'd be doing it alone. Ideally on a budget too. If there are other ideas that I haven't considered, also open to hearing them!

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about building a cabinet.

There was a recent question regarding a similar topic, they had a washer and dryer and wanted to cover the machines to make them look nice. The same solution should fit your needs. I suggest using two of the Specrite 2200 x 600 x 26mm Timber Multi Use Pine Panel for the top and legs of the cabinet. I recommend using two Carinya 125 x 100mm Black Heavy Duty Angle Bracket in each corner where the benchtop meet the legs. To keep the brackets in place I suggest using Zenith 8G x 25mm Countersunk Gold Rib Head Chipboard Screws - 40 Pack.

To keep the table stable and moving from side-to-side, I suggest attaching Hafele 23 x 23mm Angle Bracket - 20 Pack on the interior of the legs and the floor. You can use the same screws suggested earlier. I've placed an image below to give you an idea of what it could look like. The measurements are for reference only, please adjust them to your needs.

1. do I need to cut one of the Specrite 2200 x 600 x 26mm Timber Multi Use Pine Panel ? I don't have any cutting tools and I was hoping to get this delivered as I don't have a car. Or is there a smaller piece better suited?

2. I live in a rental so I can't attach to floors/walls - is Hafele 23 x 23mm Angle Bracket - 20 Pack necessary

Yes, the panels will need to be cut to size, I'm sorry but the shop saws do not do precision cuts. Your options are to either see if any of your family or friends have the equipment and can do the cut for you or hire a handy person on Airtasker or Hipages to cut the panels for you. Since you are in a rental and can't drill into the floor, I suggest using Surface Gard Black Assorted Eva Pads to prevent the table from sliding on the floor.

In regards to screwing the chipboard screws, yes, you can use an ordinary manual screwdriver, but it would be handy to have a drill. I propose thinking about investing in a drill such as the Ozito PXC 18V Cordless Drill Driver Kit PXDDK-250C. It's always handy to have a drill of your own. A standard set of drill bits will come in handy when working on your project.
