hi,
we have just bought a house and the laundry is in the double garage. I’m wanting to add storage and bench/worktop space. Do you have any creative solutions pleas. Budget under $1000.
Thanks!
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Ellebelle. It's fantastic to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about creating a laundry space.
Could you provide a few more details about the area you’d like to dedicate to the laundry? Is it just the little alcove you currently have, or are you open to using some of the wall space to the right as well? If you can draw a simple diagram showing the footprint, including wall positions, dimensions and the space you want for the laundry, we can put together a more tailored design for you.
In the meantime, a relatively quick and easy solution would be to add a combination of open shelving and a bench or worktop along the existing wall. To achieve a bench we are going to need to mount your dryer on the wall. You'll need to check whether it is suitable for that, but most are. Typically, they are inverted, which makes the door accessible from the ground. This could give you storage and benchtop space, and if you’re willing to do a bit of the work yourself, it should be achievable for under $1000.
