Hi I have a inwall tap for bath tub and we want to stap it to our laundry washing machine tap.
When u take spout off, it looks like this.
The plumber advices that need to cut tiles to change it to washing machine tap and need to repair tiles.
We don't want to cut tiles off.
Any chance if I take this spout valve off, just screw in pipes inside to swap the spouts?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @mary09876. It's sensational to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about connecting a washing machine.
You're right to question it, but unfortunately, the plumber is correct—what you’re working with is a proprietary spout system designed for a bath, not for connecting appliances like a washing machine. There’s no standard thread inside that would allow you to attach a hose or convert it easily.
Instead of trying to modify that outlet, which would likely involve cutting into tiles and walls, it might be more practical to have a plumber install a new water point elsewhere, like just above or beside your washing machine. That way, you're not disturbing the existing tiled area around the spout.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
