How to choose Villaboard thickness?

When selecting the Villaboard thickness for 600mm stud centres do I refer to the weight of the tile or thickness?

Our wall tiles are floor to ceiling with the following specs:

White 300 x 600 x 9.5mm - 17.78kg per sqm

Grey 600 x 600 x 10mm - 22.68kg per sqm

We meet the weight requirement for 6mm but the tiles are over 9mm as per the JH Villabord PDF

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @MightyMouse81. It's amazing to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about Villaboard.

I've double-checked with Hardie's, and you are fine to use 6mm Villaboard. The most important consideration is the weight, and the tile thickness is not a significant factor. Although the table bumps you in the 9mm category, Hardie's advises that if the weight is covered by the 6mm, which it is, then it is appropriate to use.
