I’m a dog groomer and wash dogs in my bath tub. I’ve found the most efficient way to do this, is to use a garden hose attachment I’ve made and attaching it to the washing machine taps. Instead of needing to constantly swap them over with the washing machine, I’ve tried a two way tap but both hot & cold is leaking when I turn them on. It seems it’s a pressure issue? As I’m sure the taps aren’t designed this. I’ve taken the two way tap off the hot tap and just connected the hose by itself and it still leaks.
any suggestions on how to fix this? Otherwise, I’ll get a plumber to come in. Thanks!
Hello @kynddoggrooming
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your hose taps.
Unfortunately, garden tap fittings are not made to be drip free as they are based on clip and O ring systems. Eventually the O rings will wear out, and you'll start to get a leak.
Another option I would like to suggest is using the Ozito 25mm 1" 3 Piece Type F C And E Camlock Set. The Camlock design is an outstanding product used across many applications, for making secure and leak proof hose and pipe connections, these connectors make it quick and easy to undertake a hose or pipe change, improving efficiency and minimising leakage and waste due to easy of operation.
Please note that any plumbing work must be carried out by a licensed plumber for safety and compliance.
