Hi there, I added about 300mm to the end of the drain hose from our new washing machine as it was too short to reach.
The connections seem to be working and the water is draining fine. The only thing is there is a small amount of water left in the pipe at the end near the spigot (photo attached).
Is this going to be a problem or is it normal?
Thanks,
Matt
Hello @mattjames88
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your washing machine drain hose.
Due to the way your waste-water plumbing has been put together, I suspect that the water level is stopping at a high level. I propose transferring your hose to the upper spigot to prevent water from levelling into your waste hose. If the same phenomenon happens again, I suggest examining for blockages as the water level in your basin trap is not suppose to be that high. Please make sure to put back the plug on the lower spigot to prevent flooding.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
Eric
Thanks Eric! I've transferred to the upper spignot....ill let you know how it goes after the next load of washing. Cheers, Matt
