Hi I am unable to connect my cold water hose from my washing machine to the cold water pipe under my sink. The hot water pipe is fine but the cold water pipe is closed (see pics). If anyone can help that would be much appreciated.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks you for sharing your question about your laundry tap.
There is a blanking cap attached to your cold-water laundry tap. I suggest using a Craftright 250mm Multi Grip Plier to hold onto the cap and turning it anticlockwise. Once the cap is off you should be able to screw the cold water inlet hose onto the laundry tap. Please put the cap in a safe location in case you need to use it in the future.
