How to extend water supply & waste hoses?

7C2DD71C-7AAA-4424-9858-1B0C3327A36F.jpeg

Recently bought a new washing machine and tried to connect but the the hoses are too short and won’t reach the pipes. Would I be able extend these hoses or will need to replace the hoses entirely?

Thanks

Re: How to extend water supply & waste hoses?

Hello @Rhuu13

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about extending your washing machine hose lines.

With the inlet hose I suggest using a BOSTON 1.2m Washing Machine And Dishwasher Inlet Hose in combination with a Brasshards 20mm Brass Threaded Hexagon Nipple LF. Please make sure to use Plumber's tape on the threaded section of the brass nipple to prevent leaks. Secure the ends firmly but not overly tight to prevent cracking the plastic ends.

For the waste hose I propose using Pope 19mm x 90cm Clear Vinyl Tubing and linking it with the waste hose using K-Rain 19mm Barbed Joiner. Make sure to secure all the joined ends with a Toledo 14-27mm Perforated Clamp Hose Fit. This will prevent the hose from slipping out and causing a flood. My best advice is to position the waste pipe in a curved manner to prevent it from forming kinks.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
