How to fill a hole in rendered internal brick wall?

IMG_3165.jpeg

Hi everyone, just moved into a new home and seeking help on filling in a hole in the wall. It looks like the previous owners have tried to hang a clothes dryer on the wall and it has fallen down. The wall is brick with render.

Re: How to fill hole in internal brick wall

Hi @MJ87,

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is wonderful to have you with us.

I'd suggest filling the holes to around 1-2mm below the finished wall surface with some Dingo Fast Set Mortar, then allowing it to fully dry.

You can then use Dunlop Fine Coat Render to top up the last little bit to create a nice smooth surface that can then be primed and painted.

Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Re: How to fill hole in internal brick wall

Thanks so much for your quick reply @JacobZ 😊 the area I need to repair is quite small, so wondering whether these products (or similar) is available in a smaller size/amount?

Re: How to fill hole in internal brick wall

Hi @MJ87,

Unfortunately, they are not available in smaller sizes.

You could get away with using just this Earl's Concremate Expanding Cement, but you wouldn't get as fine a finish as with the fine coat render.

Let me know if you have any further questions.
