How to fix a broken shower floor tile?

Hi, I would like some advice on how to best fix a broken floor tile in my shower. As per the attached photos, the corner of one of the tiles that butts up against the wall has broken. The broken corner is loose but the rest of the tile is still stuck firmly to the floor. Worried if I try and get the whole tile up I'll damage the water proofing.  Any advice will be much appreciated!

Re: How to fix a broken shower floor tile?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @paucar_83. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about repairing a tile.

If the broken corner piece is loose and can be removed easily without disturbing the surrounding tile or damaging the waterproofing, you could try gluing it back in place with tile adhesive and then re-grouting around the joints. Just keep in mind that even with careful repair, the original crack will still be there, which could allow water to slowly seep through over time.

If the broken piece fits back into position neatly, another option is to apply a tile sealer over the repair once it's set. This can help prevent moisture from penetrating the crack, especially if you ensure the sealer soaks into the joint thoroughly.

That said, the most reliable and long-term fix would be to have the tile professionally replaced. This would allow a tiler to assess the condition of the waterproofing underneath and ensure everything is sealed correctly to prevent future issues.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
