Dear Brainstorm
hi, I have a leaking shower booth and this has been for a while since I moved in. From the picture, I realised that the corner in front of shower door is wet and I also had to remove skirt board as it got mouldy due to the leaking.
I had new grout installed a few weeks ago but it still did not fix the leaking. The moisture on that corner gets intense after using shower. I did not find anywhere else leaking but I am so lost where this leaking from. Please help.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @jake8502. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about shower leaks.
A shower recess essentially works like a bowl — the grout, tiles, and silicone sealant at the joints form the first layer of protection to keep water inside. If all of these look intact and you can’t see any gaps or cracks where water might be escaping, the leak could be coming from plumbing behind the walls or a problem with the waterproof membrane beneath the tiles. Since there’s no obvious exit point for the water, it might be worth calling in a leak detection specialist. They have the tools and experience to accurately track down hidden leaks so you can get the right fix without unnecessary guesswork.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
