Hi, i need help in determining is it a faulty inlet valve or something else. I have check for fault flush valve by turning off the cistern tap and there appears to be no leak, also removing the flush valve and the washer is still good.
The cistern water level doesn't stop filling up when the balloon is floating, reaches a level and start to give hissing sound, and water level rises slowly before it overflow into the opening beside flush valve into toilet bowl.
If i have to remove and replace the inlet valve, how do i go about doing it?
Side note:
I installed a toilet spray bidet before, but it has since turn faulty and so i have to remove it from the cistern tap and blocked off the tap connecting the bidet.
Appreciate any help for DIY, or i may need a professional to fix?
Hello @newbie83
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your inlet valve.
Just a friendly reminder that any plumbing work must be carried out by a licensed plumber for safety and compliance.
Generally speaking, the inlet valve's locking nut is at the bottom and once taken off will allow you to remove it and install a new one. You also have the option of trying to repair your inlet valves washer. I suggest having a quick look at this guide - How to fix a leaking toilet. It will give you a general idea of how to fix your inlet valve.
I propose looking at the Fluidmaster Bottom Entry Toilet Inlet Valve should you decide to replace your existing inlet valve.
