Theirs is a leak coming from my shower screen door. It appears to be escaping through hinge. What would the problem be on this and how would I fix it? Thank you
Hi @kris888,
Do you know if the leak is coming through the gap to the right of the hinge?
Or is it coming underneath the aluminium frame at the bottom?
If the leak is coming through the gap to the right of the hinge, then depending on the thickness of your glass, you should be able to use a small piece of Sandleford 6 x 1000mm Shower Seal Strip to cover that gap beside the hinge. Due to the short length, I would suggest sticking it in place with some silicone.
If the leak is coming underneath the frame of the shower, then there is likely a gap in the silicone on the inside of the shower. In this case, you would need to replace the silicone with a suitable wet area silicone.
If the leak is coming from elsewhere, can you please do some investigation and let me know where you think it is coming from so I can assist further.
Let me know what you think.

Hi there,
the water is escaping through the hinge from my inspection. What would I need to do?
Hello @kris888
It's possible that the water is bridging through the hinge mechanism and is guiding the water to the outside. I suggest putting a small bead of silicone Selleys 90ml Clear Wet Area Silicone Sealant on the edge surface of the hinge to prevent water entering it. If your analysis is correct sealing the hinge should stop the water from coming out. But if the water comes out through another section you'll need to investigate further to find out where the leak is coming from.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
