Whenever we shower small pool of water (20-30ml) appears outside shower on the floor. Usually water keeps accumulating for sometime after finishing shower. We have tried putting water directly on the frame at that particular location and water quantity leaking increased exponentially.
Leak location is through frame joints on side where door handle is.
Not sure how to fix this. Any advice is much appreciated.
Thanks.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @AwaisCh. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about sealing a shower.
From the images you’ve shared, it looks like there isn’t much silicone sealant in the gap around the frame, which would allow water to run underneath and into the frame joints. I’d recommend checking all the spots I’ve marked in the image below. If there’s no silicone there, or if the existing sealant has deteriorated, you’ll need to remove it and apply a fresh bead of clear Selley’s Wet Area Silicone. That will help stop water from tracking into the frame. Here's a helpful guide: How to apply silicone sealant.
It also looks like you’re missing a shower door seal (often called a water deflector or bottom seal) on the underside of the shower door. This strip is designed to redirect water back into the shower enclosure as it runs down the glass, rather than letting it drip straight into the frame and out onto the floor. Replacing that trim is a relatively simple and inexpensive fix, and combined with resealing, it should go a long way towards solving your leak issue.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
