How to fix new ceramic disc taps not sitting flush on wall?

I just installed these new ceramic disc taps and the mounting flange does not sit flat on the wall. This isn't because there isn't enough thread, but that the fitting looks like to be on an angle. My old taps had a flange that didn't screw into the spindle so it wasn't an issue. Anything I can do about this?

Re: New ceramic disc taps installed do not sit flush on wall

Hello @scepticpsych

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your tapware.

I propose turning the flange tight to minimize the gap, but not overly tight that you can't remove it. I then recommend using Selleys 300g White Wet Area Waterproof Silicone Sealant to fill and disguise the gap. This would be the cost-effective solution rather than asking the plumber to come in and re-align the brass tap bases behind your wall. Is there another flange you can use other than the ones that came with the cross-handle set? Unfortunately, no, there are none that are compatible.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
