How to fix rusted sink?

Hi Team,

I am trying to fix the sink using some of the bunning kits. Just not sure which ones to use for filling along with a water proof paint. Also do I need to also work on the sealant?

Re: how to fix this rusty sink. which products to use

Hello @sjejani

It appears that your basin was repaired a while back and they used paint to cover up the rust. I'm not sure how far the rust travels but you can try to sand it down and see if it is just surface rust. If it is, then it can be repaired using White Knight 0.125L Rust Guard Rust Converter. The metal surface can then be primed and painted with the White Knight paint system. But if the rust has gone through and has compromised the shell of the basin, I suggest replacing it with a new one.

If the basin can be repaired and painted, I suggest using PC-11 56g White Epoxy Paste to fill in the gap at the front. I suggest using your thumb to feather the surface and edges so that the putty blends in nicely over the surface. I suggest removing the old silicone sealer and using Selleys 300g White Wet Area Waterproof Silicone Sealant. Once the epoxy cures, I recommend covering it up with Rust-Oleum 13.3ml White Tub And Tile Touch Up Kit to give it a nice glossy finish.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

hi Eric, thanks for your continued support. Can I use Shelley's knead to fill and shape instead. I have all these items so far to start the repair.

Yes, you can use Selleys Kneadit on the basin.
