How to fix shower head holder?

Hi everyone,

I don’t have the language to describe what needs fixing so I’ll do my best and also share an image. My shower has a slider that holds a hand-held shower head. The rubber gaskets/washers have come loose and separated from the slider.

I’ve attached a diagram showing what has separated to help.

How can this be fixed?

Hi @roximn,

It would be great if you could show us an image of your bracket, just for reference. If it's similar to the image and you don't often adjust the height, then you could clean the mating surfaces thoroughly and then try using Super glue to rejoin them. However, in the water and heat of a shower, this might not be a long-term solution. Araldite is a two-part glue and might perform better. It really comes down to whether the bracket is moved often and how much stress will be placed on the glued joint.

Here it is. You can see the rubber bits have come loose. We do move the slider quite a bit and need to continue to do so.

Thanks for sharing the photo. It looks like those rubber inserts have come loose from the shower rail slider. Are they causing any issues with how the shower head holds or slides? From the looks of it, they seem to be more for aesthetics or to cushion the slider, rather than essential to how the unit works.

If everything’s still holding and sliding properly, you might consider simply removing those loose bits altogether—especially if they’re getting in the way. If you'd prefer to keep them for appearance or grip, a small dab of silicone could help hold them in place without making them too difficult to remove later if needed. Let me know if the slider’s starting to slip or feel loose—that might change the recommendation.

The slider seems to be holding on ok but drops on occasion. I might just cut the rubber inserts since there is not a huge impact, worst case scenario. But silicone is also an excellent idea - thank you!
