Re: Shower pressure dropped dramatically after ceramic spindles installed

Hello @Magoo1

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your shower pressure.

If you still have the installation manual of your spindles, you'll notice in the working specification section. In it, it states that the tap set has a low flow rate and may not be suitable for connection to some instantaneous gas water heaters, some tempering valves, some solar water heaters and some thermostatic mixing valves. It's also not recommended for gravity feed systems, tank water systems or bore water systems.

The source of the slow flow could be caused by any of the items I've mentioned above. Another way to test your water pressure is by removing your shower head. If the water flow is still the same, then odds are the spindles are restricting the water flow. But if the flow changes and becomes stronger with the shower head off, it's possible that the shower hose or the shower head has a restricting valve installed.

I suggest giving it a test without the shower head and see what the results are. If you are not satisfied with its performance, I suggest exchanging it for standard spindles at the store so that you get your water pressure back.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Eric
