do I need a plumber 🫣
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @LisR. It's fantastic to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about a leaking tap.
It’s possible that the tap seat inside the wall is damaged, which can allow water to bypass even a brand-new washer and spindle. If that’s the case, it would need to be re-ground using a reseating tool to create a smooth surface for the washer to seal against.
If you’re not familiar with how to do that — or especially if the old spindle was glued in, which could indicate past DIY fixes — it might be wise to call in a plumber to avoid further damage.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
