hello there bearers of wisdom! is it possible to ‘unstick’ this tap system? it all looks reasonably new but the taps come on very reluctantly and i cant swivel the tap at all. Should i just give up and replaced them all//l. Elle
Hello @Elle44
Behind the body of the spout is a small hole that contains a small grub screw. If this grub screw has been overtightened, it will prevent the spout from swivelling freely. To loosen it up, I suggest using an Allen key to slightly unscrew the grub screw. Just remember not to loosen it too much as the spout might accidentally come out. I recommend just giving it a slight turn to allow the spout to turn freely.
In regards to the tap handles, it's possible that the washers have become stuck or not enough lubricant was applied to the body of the spindle. If you've replaced spindle washers before, I suggest adding extra lubrication to the spindle body as well. If not, I propose engaging the services of a plumber to lubricate your spindles.
Here is a handy step-by-step guide: How to replace a tap washer
