How to hang shelf in corner of laundry?

i want the shelf to be sort of heavy duty to be keeping things like (air fryer, toaster, slow cooker, etc.) I would just like a rough list of what i need and a few instructions on how to do it. It will be in along the back wall. I just did a bit of mock up the measurements of the wall to put the shelf there. not to bothered of the actual size of the shelf, just what work best.

Re: How to hang shelf in corner of laundry?

For a laundry shelf intended to hold heavier appliances like an air fryer, toaster, or slow cooker, it’s best to stick to a depth of around 450mm rather than 700mm @LIZZIE22. A 700mm deep shelf would require very heavy-duty brackets and more complicated installation, whereas a 450mm shelf can be supported with standard or moderately heavy-duty brackets, and you could even fit two shelves stacked to achieve a similar storage space.

You’ll need a strong shelf board, such as 18mm MDF, plywood, or timber, cut to a practical length of around 1800mm. Heavy-duty or standard “L” brackets rated for the weight of your appliances will be required, ideally with at least three brackets for an 1800mm shelf. For fixings, use screws appropriate for your wall type, securing into timber studs for plasterboard walls or using masonry anchors for brick or concrete. Tools you’ll need include a stud finder, spirit level, drill, pencil, and measuring tape

Installation involves locating and marking the studs or masonry points, marking the desired shelf height and bracket positions, drilling pilot holes, and securing the brackets firmly. Once the brackets are fixed, place the shelf on top and secure it with screws. If you plan to add a second shelf above, repeat the process, leaving enough clearance for your appliances.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
