How to install Estilo shower set?

After installing the Estilo shower set, why does it still rotate left/right after tightening screws

I have successfully installed this shower head set, but even after tightening the grub screws to the point where I think I burred the screw, the shower head (neck) can still rotate left and right. Is this meant to happen?

Hello @Triston

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your shower set.

Did your set come with a brass sleeve that screws over the threaded brass outlet of the wall? Did you apply plumber's tape to the threaded outlet or screw on directly with the brass sleeve? It's essential that plumber's tape be applied to the threaded brass outlet to prevent leaks. The brass sleeve must be installed tight, and it must not move when the shower arm is slid over it and fixed in place with the grub screw.

If you do have a brass sleeve, I suggest removing the assembly and putting in some plumber's tape to secure the brass sleeve and try re-installing the arm again.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Thanks for the prompt reply, however, these instructions and the parts provided don't neccessarily all crew together, some parts just slide on, that's why I assumed the grub screws were to hold parts in place, but it seems like they are used to stop them from coming apart rather than stop them from moving.

Hello @Triston

Thank you for posting the installation instructions. Just for clarification, the 1/2-inch BSP nipple connector must be very tight on the threaded wall outlet. It must be tool tight and not just hand tight so that it will not move when something is attached to it. When the body assembly is pushed onto the nipple connector the grub screw is the only thing that will prevent it from moving. If the assembly moves it means that the nipple connector is loose.

However, if you are referring to the shower head holder there is a screw inside the holder itself that you can possibly tighten to prevent the shower head from drooping. If after tyring out these repairs and you still run into issues, I suggest bringing the assembly back to the store for a return or an exchange. Please remember to bring your docket so that they can track your purchase.

Please give these repair suggestions a try and let me know if they work.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Re: After installing the Estilo shower set, why does it still rotate left/right after tightening ...

Thanks for the suggestion, it's just that I have no tool that can tighten the round nipple connector, and no I was not worried about the shower head holder. Upon reflection, the nipple connector possibly could be tightened further and I will try this. However, overall it still does the job, just me wanting the shower head and assembly to not be able to pivot.

Thanks again,

Hello @Triston

It's possible that you'll need to use a large Allen Key to turn the brass nipple tightly. If you can take a photo of the front of the brass nipple, I'll be able to confirm if it is so.
