Good morning,
I am thinking DIY for the existing shelves with a covered door. Can I get suggestions on how I can make it happen?
Shelves are made up of real timber (old), but if I cover them with the door, it will give some looks as well as hide things.
Please refer to the attached pictures.
Thanks a lot for your suggestions.
Regards,
Praveen
Hi @PraveenS1,
Just so you're aware, it would be quite tricky to attach doors directly to your existing open shelves. To install proper doors, you'd typically need a full cabinet structure, with solid side panels for the door hinges to screw into. Because your shelves are just fixed to the wall with brackets, there isn't anything solid there to attach doors onto — so you'd really have to remove the shelves and build a cabinet around them first.
If you're looking for a simpler option, you could install a wire curtain line across the front of the shelves and hang a nice fabric curtain instead. It would hide the contents and tidy up the look without needing a big construction project.
If you do want doors, it would be worth checking out the available pre-made wall cabinets that would fit your space.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
